However, if the lighting program of our chicken farms is unreasonable, the lighting is too strong or too weak, and the lighting time is too long or too short, it will have adverse effects on the chickens.
The key is to do a good job of controlling material and light, controlling the growth rate of muscles in the early stage of chicks, adjusting the light intensity, promoting the growth and development of internal organs, and enhancing the body’s disease resistance; solving the problem of difficult treatment, high cost, and death of broilers in the later stage of disease. The problem of high scouring rate; using the characteristics of light control and broiler growth compensation, control feed intake, reduce feed-to-meat ratio, and ultimately reduce breeding risks and improve the economic benefits of broiler growth.
Feed control is not recommended for chicks in the first week, and the trough can be empty, because the chicks’ digestive system and immune system are not fully developed and need to ensure adequate feed intake. Feed control can be carried out after 12 days of age, starting from one hour, after feeding, and controlling for one hour without feeding. Gradually increase the material control time, increasing by half an hour every day, and the cumulative material control time can be controlled to 4 to 5 hours a day, not exceeding 6 hours. The longer the feeding time is, the more hungry the chicken is, and the feeding is very fast. In this way, the time that the feed exists in the trough will be reduced, and the shorter the time the feed will exist in the open environment, the less bacteria and mold will grow, thereby reducing the risk of disease entering the mouth.
At the same time, the chicken’s crop is elastic and can store a lot of food. Frequent opening and closing is conducive to the development of the crop, thereby reducing the incidence of crop inflammation. At the same time, eating quickly, stimulates the glandular stomach to secrete digestive juice, stimulates the peristalsis of the gizzard, and indirectly achieves the effect of strengthening the stomach, thereby reducing the incidence of glandular gastritis.
These are control materials, light control is another matter. The main purpose of light control is to let the chicken rest well, adjust the balance of the body, and grow meat better. There is a standard for light control. 24 hours of light is required for the first 3 days. During this time, many chicks are still imitating each other and learning to eat. If the light is turned off, it may cause the chickens to dehydrate and die.
From the 4th day, you can turn off the lights. Turn off the lights from half an hour and gradually increase. Do not turn off the lights for too long within 7 days of age, at most about an hour .As mentioned above, the chicken liver is not healthy. Turning off the light is not only a rest, but also a control of the material. If the time is too long, hypoglycemia will also occur.
After 15 days, the liver of the chicken is gradually fully developed, the intestinal absorption function is sound, and the time for controlling light and material can be extended. At this time, the chicken’s body accumulates a certain amount of fat, and the feed intake increases, and the body will not run out of feed and the symptoms of hypoglycemia will appear.
